Challenge

Tourism information was scattered across the city

Ulsan's industrial-city image kept barriers high for out-of-town and international visitors. City sites, tourism-board apps, social handles, and blogs were fragmented — a single visitor had to hop across many channels just to plan a trip.

As part of KTO's Smart Tourism City program, the City of Ulsan needed an integrated city-scale concierge. Trip Builder joined the consortium and proposed a solution combining travel-personality analysis with AI-powered recommendations.

Solution

100-persona STTI + city-tuned AI

🎒

Smart Travel Type Inventory (STTI)

Identify a user's match across 100 personas → recommend Ulsan POIs that fit them.

🏙️

Ulsan-tuned domain sLLM

A city-specialized chatbot trained on Ulsan POIs, restaurants, events, and transit.

🌐

Multilingual concierge

Korean · English · Chinese · Japanese chat — barrier-removal for international visitors.

📊

Tourism data layer

Anonymized routes, satisfaction, and dwell time feed back into city decisions.

Outcome

In production + global conference appearances

Wassuh Ulsan is Trip Builder's first formal B2G production case — and the reference for follow-on partnerships in Busan, Jeonju, Suwon, and Jeju.
